Ongoing Project: West Oakland Middle School Renovation

Mar Con is currently engaged in a comprehensive renovation project at West Oakland Middle School for the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD). This project involves the complete replacement of windows across two buildings, each standing 27 feet high. Our team is removing the existing aluminum curtain wall system and installing a new stud wall along with an aluminum window system on the east and west elevations of Buildings E and F. This upgrade not only enhances the aesthetics of the school but also improves energy efficiency and natural lighting.

In addition to the window replacement, our work includes the installation of mechanical louvers, as well as updates to the plumbing, electrical, and data systems. We are also renovating restrooms and replacing doors to enhance functionality and accessibility throughout the campus. A key challenge of this project is maintaining normal school operations during construction, making careful coordination a critical element. Our team is committed to minimizing disruptions to daily activities, ensuring that students and staff can continue their routines smoothly while we enhance their learning environment.
