Ongoing Project: Oakland Main Library Renovation

Mar Con is proud to be undertaking a significant renovation at the Oakland Main Library for the City of Oakland, focused on revitalizing this essential community hub. Our project aims to modernize the library, creating a welcoming and functional space for patrons. Key upgrades include a fresh coat of paint throughout the building, the installation of a giant ceiling fan for improved airflow, and the creation of a glass conference room that encourages collaboration and transparency. Additionally, we are enhancing the ceilings and implementing vital mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) upgrades to ensure operational efficiency.

To further elevate the library’s environment, we are incorporating window film and replacing outdated window coverings, promoting better light control and energy savings. Our efforts also include repairing the private sewer lateral (PSL) in partnership with the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) to maintain reliable plumbing systems. We are facilitating scaffolding for mural painting to introduce artistic elements to the space and have installed fencing to ensure safety throughout the renovation process.
