Completed Project: Kaiser Elementary School Playground Renovation

At Mar Con, we are proud to have partnered with the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) for the revitalization of the playground at Kaiser Elementary School. This exciting project transformed the old asphalt paving into a stunning, multi-level play area designed to inspire creativity and promote active play. The new playground features a variety of engaging equipment spread across different elevations, including a wooden log maze, stepper stools, slides that connect the levels, a bouncing trampoline, a wooden climber, and a water pump with an interactive water feature. A charming wooden fort adds an imaginative touch, while the installation of artificial turf ensures a safe and welcoming environment for children.

The renovation involved extensive site work, including the construction of two staircases made of permeable pavers, enhancing both accessibility and environmental sustainability. Thoughtful landscaping features small and large trees that provide shade and beauty to the space. We also installed a basketball court and a new parking facility to improve accessibility for families and visitors. To ensure the safety of all children, secure fencing and gates were incorporated throughout the playground. This comprehensive renovation not only revitalized the playground but also created a dynamic space that fosters community engagement and encourages physical activity for all students.
